Issue:
An Austin Energy client needed direct control of news announcement content provided on their existing site. The client needed a solution that was simple to use. Austin Energy needed a solution that was easy to maintain by the very small Web/Portal team. The solution also needed to conform to the Corporate Technology Standards defined by Austin Energy.

Solution:
Supply the Austin Energy client with a freely available RSS authoring tool. The structured XML was then parsed into the existing layout with Javascript node replacement to maintain a consistent presentation. This solution has the beneficial side effect of providing an RSS channel with no extra effort.
