Issue:
Austin Energy maintains a very large site that serves a wide variety of users with diverse requirements. The way users approach the site does not always match the overall organization of the site. Secondary navigation is used to create logical connections across these organizational limitations, but are not always sufficient.
Solution:
Create a navigational aid
to provide users an additional method for locating desired information quickly.
To create the "Site Map", I performed an extensive content inventory of the entire site and identified key areas of interest. I then organized the information within appropriate heirarchies and performed several iterations based on collegue feedback. Finally, I created the HTML and positional CSS that was used in the site.
